Viewers watching the first semi-final of Gladiators on TV tonight have been saying the same thing about one event despite a change to the rules.
The hit '90s TV show returned to screens in January this year, over 30-years since the original show was first broadcast on ITV. The new rebooted series now on BBC on Saturday nights now has Bradley Walsh and his son Barney stepping into the ring as the show's hosts.
Brand-new games feature alongside classic challenges including Gauntlet, which has returned the show. The event sees the show's contenders attempt to run the 45ft Gauntlet divided into five sections with a Gladiator protecting each zone.

Using ram-rods and power-pads, the Gladiators attempt to block the contender from reaching the end of the course before the time runs out. Sounds simple enough.
But for tonight's semi-final, a rule change has seen contestants have less time to complete the Gauntlet as the usual 30 second time limit has been cut by 10 seconds. This means the semi-final contestants have only 20 seconds to reach the end, all the while being pummelled and blocked by Gladiators along the way.
Yet despite the rule change, people are saying the event is still far too easy, with all four semi-final contestants completing the course despite the 10-second reduction. This prompted viewers to complain about the event on X (formerly Twitter) using the #Gladiators.
