Kate Garraway has revealed her husband Derek Draper's final message ahead of a documentary set to air on ITV that they planned 'in his voice'. It was announced last week that the presenter's next film will be released later this month following Derek's tragic death in January.
Kate Garraway: Derek's Story documents the final year of his life and it follows the two previous award-winning films Finding Derek and Caring for Derek. The documentary grants close access to Derek and his wife and the film provides an insight into his personal struggles with illness and highlights the challenges faced by millions of people in the UK living with serious illness and disability and those who care for them.
But its release is bittersweet as Kate announced on January 5 that her husband and father of her two children - Darcey and Billy - had sadly passed away, almost four years after the former Labour lobbyist-turned-psychotherapist became ill with Covid at the start of the pandemic in March 2020.

The 56-year-old then fell seriously ill before Christmas after suffering a cardiac arrest and died on January 3 aged 56 with Kate explaining that "the damage inflicted by Covid in March 2020, led to further complications."
Speaking about the upcoming documentary, Kate has said: "We had to find a way of allowing Derek’s voice to be heard and while having to finish it
