Kate Garraway has shared why she's 'sad' in a tearful appearance on Good Morning Britain. The presenter appeared on the ITV news programme on Tuesday (March 26) as a guest ahead of the release of her next documentary which she started filming before her husband Derek Draper's death.
Kate announced on January 5 that her husband and father of her two children - Darcey and Billy - had sadly passed away, almost four years after the former Labour lobbyist-turned-psychotherapist became ill with Covid at the start of the pandemic in March 2020 before spending a year in hospital

The film grants close access to Derek and his wife and also provides an insight into his personal struggles with illness and highlights the challenges faced by millions of people in the UK living with serious illness and disability and those who care for them.

In the film, the political lobbyist speaks on camera for the first time since being hospitalised with Covid in March 2020. Speaking on GMB, Kate said: "It started filming for Derek wanting his voice to be heard. The way you show love he couldn't do.

He left like a complete failure, a burden on us, on the carers. This documentary was his way of helping, of speaking up for others and the people
