Kerry Katona was a proud mum this weekend as her nine-year-old daughter DJ competed in a gymnastics competition, and came home a winner.
The former Atomic Kitten singer, 43, who recently lost four stone, couldn't help but share the good news with her 835K Instagram followers, posting a snap of DJ with a number of medals hanging around her neck. Calling DJ her 'baby girl', Kerry gushed that she was 'so proud'. "My baby girl did soooooo well today!! So bloody proud of her," wrote Kerry, adding a number of love heart emojis.
DJ also brought home a participant certificate following the competition, proudly holding it up for a snap. Kerry shares DJ with her late ex-husband George Kay, who passed away in 2019. She is also mum to son Max, 15, and daughters Heidi, 17, Lilly-Sue, 21, and Molly, 22.
The star, who is now in a relationship with fitness trainer Ryan Mahoney, has recently opened up about the possibility of having more children, admitting that they have discussed having a child through surrogacy, during a chat with OK!.
“If it’s something Ryan wants, I’d consider it. But it’s getting to the point where it’s now or never,” said Kerry, 43. “I’ve thought about getting my eggs frozen this summer, as a birthday present for Ryan, then going down the surrogacy route.” Still, Kerry admitted it’s an “option” rather than a “priority”, for both of them – and suspects she is suffering from “PTSD” after her DJ spent four days on life support after her difficult birth almost 10 years ago.
"The thought of being pregnant is something I just couldn’t go through again,” she said. “I nearly died with DJ, and DJ did die – they had to bring her back. It was so terrifying.
