Temperatures have plummeted in recent days as Greater Manchester freezes in late wintry weather. We might only be a couple of weeks away from the clocks moving forwards, but snowy scenes in some areas this week have resembled the backdrop of a Christmas card.
The region is braced for even more snow and ice over the next couple of days, with Met Office weather warnings in force. An amber warning for snow is in place for some eastern parts of Greater Manchester until midday on Friday (March 10), while a yellow warning for snow is in place for the rest of the region until 2pm tomorrow.
A further yellow warning has also been issued for the entire region from 3pm on Saturday until 6am on Sunday. But there's good news if you're eager for something a little more spring-like, as temperatures are expected to climb before the end of the weekend.
