Homes and businesses across Greater Manchester have reportedly been hit by two power cuts. More than 1,000 properties in total are affected by the incidents this morning (March 23), according to Electricity North West.
The company says 953 properties in Hyde, Tameside, have been hit by the biggest of the two power cuts this morning. Further details on which postcodes are affected and when power could be restored are yet to be confirmed.
A spokesperson for Electricity North West wrote on Twitter: "We are aware of a power cut in Hyde SK14 affecting 953 customers. Our engineer is on their way to investigate.

"To receive updates on this please DM your full address and contact number. If you or anybody in your household require assistance, please call us on 105."
It comes as a further 109 properties are reportedly affected by a power cut in the Uppermill and Greenfield areas of Saddleworth this morning. Electricity North West says the issue was first reported at 8.35pm last night (Wednesday).
Engineers are currently on-site to resolve the issue, with an estimated power restoration time 'under review'. Residents are affected in the OL3 6HU, OL3 6LB, OL3 7AN, OL3 7AR, OL3 7AT, OL3 7AU, OL3 7AW, OL3 7AX and OL3 7FS postcodes.
A post on the Electricity North West website added: "This power cut has been caused by an unexpected incident with the underground cable that provides electricity to your home or business. We didn't know before your electricity went off that this was going to happen but now we know, rest assured we will get your power back on safely and as quickly as possible.
