A teenage girl accused of Brianna Ghey's murder admitted having 'dark fantasies', but denied she wanted to turn 'fantasy into reality'. Girl X gave evidence in her defence for the first time, at the end of the second week of the trial at Manchester Crown Court.
She admitted being interested in 'murder and torture', but said she never had any intention of carrying it out in real life. Brianna, 16, a transgender girl, died after being stabbed 28 times in a park near Warrington earlier this year, jurors have heard.
She was found by dog walkers in Linear Park in Culcheth at around 3pm on Saturday, February 11. Her bloodied body was found face down in mud, having been stabbed to the head, neck, back and chest.

The two defendants, both aged 16, known in press reports as Girl X and Boy Y, deny murder. Girl X, from Culcheth, and Boy Y, from Leigh, cannot be named due to legal reasons.
On the tenth day of the trial, Girl X gave evidence in court behind a screen. The judge, Mrs Justice Yip, told jurors that the decision had been made in order to 'reduce distractions' for the defendant, in order to allow her to 'give her best evidence'.
Under questioning from her barrister Richard Pratt KC, she admitted downloading an internet browser which enabled her to access the 'dark web'. Asked when she started to take an interest and look at material relating to 'murder, torture and the like', Girl X said: "I'm not sure exactly when I started but I will say a couple of years ago maybe."
