A judge has told the teenagers who killed Brianna Ghey that they will face a life sentence once they are jailed for her murder.
Two teenagers - who cannot be named for legal reasons - were found guilty of the 'brutal and ferocious' killing today, after a trial at Manchester Crown Court. Brianna, 16, a transgender girl, described as ‘beautiful, witty and hilarious’ by her family, was stabbed 28 times in broad daylight in a park near Warrington.
She had been lured to the park by a teenage girl who she believed was her friend. But Brianna had no idea that Girl X had secretly been plotting to kill her, with her friend Boy Y.

Both Boy Y and Girl X have now been found guilty of the murder, which they both denied. Jurors took four hours and 40 minutes to reach their conclusion.
Both will be sentenced in the New Year.
Speaking to the pair before they were sent away, judge Mrs Justice Yip said: "I'm sure you probably already know that I have to impose a life sentence. What I have to decide is the minimum amount of time that you will be required to serve before you might be considered for release
"I'm not going to do that this week. I'm going to ask for some more reports in relation to each of you.
"I'm going to see what other steps need to be taken before I sentence."
Girl X's parents were in tears, while Boy Y's mother was also said to be in tears following the sentencing.
