A pair who stole £100,000 worth of stock from Footasylum in a sophisticated plot have been jailed.
Warehouse manager Matthew Southern, 31, and supervisor Jamie Hart, 34, organised the removal of numerous pallets of stocks into waiting lorries in Rochdale before they were sent off for onward sale.
Other warehouse staff who filled the trucks were completely unaware that they were helping shift the stolen goods, Minshull Street Crown Court heard.

Hart then deleted some of the missing stock from the company systems. The scheduled lorries and removal of the stock was not authorised through the company, and the pair were brought to justice after being caught on CCTV.
Both have since admitted an offence of theft by employee and were jailed at Minshull Street Crown Court this week (Tuesday, August 22).
Eleanor Gleeson, prosecuting, said that on February 21 2021, bosses received an anonymous email reporting that stock was going missing from the warehouse, based in Heywood.
“Over the course of the next few days, the profit manager spoke to the informant, who said stock was going out of the warehouse in a van and picked it up from the warehouse, and they said that Jamie Hart was involved,” she said.
An investigation was launched, including a trawl through CCTV footage of the warehouse.
On February 13, 2021, at around 3.30pm, Southern and Hart were seen helping with loading eight pallets of stock - around 160 boxes - onto a van. This had not been authorised, and the warehouse operatives who helped with loading the van were not aware they were the products of theft, the prosecutor said.
Days later, three further pallets were loaded into another truck.
