Former TOWIE star, James Lock has spoken out about his body dysmorphia on Good Morning Britain as he revealed he's struggled with his body image throughout the show. James went onto the morning program to talk about his body dysmorphia and detailed his cosmetic surgery.
He said: "I've had my eyes done, my nose done, you're getting carried away." James went on to detail that he has experienced problems during photoshoots. He said: "Something that would have taken a couple of hours, a couple of pictures, now takes a full day." Susanna Reid, who James was talking to describes James as a “handsome man” who has “no need to change anything” about him.
However, struggling with body dysmorphia, James responded with: “I can acknowledge there’s a problem, but I still act a certain way. “I know sometimes I’m being irrational.
I’m a good looking guy, I’m in good shape, but I will still find fault - whether I’m on set or even if I’m going away on holiday or doing a shoot for a brand, I will find fault.” James went on to say that his agent will “go through pictures” for him because if he does he will “find fault in some aspect”.
The TOWIE star describes the mental illness as a “constant battle” and even said he’s spoken to friends and family who think he’s “a bit crazy”. Ed Balls asked James to describe what body dysmorphia is and James explained: “For me it’s feeling uncomfortable with what you see about yourself.” James’ body dysmorphia led him to get cosmetic procedures which he said came hand-in-hand with being in the public eye.
He said: “I started off with a hair transplant, I’ve had my ears done, my teeth done - that’s a standard thing for everyone at the minute. “Recently I did another TV show and injured myself a little bit.
