A diner at a Manchester restaurant where the windows were 'smashed' in has told of the shocking moment that people wearing 'balaclavas' and 'ski masks' forced their way into the restaurant. Last night, diners and staff at MUSU, a high-end Japanese restaurant on Bridge Street were left shaken after the incident that took place during a Valentine's Day service.
The windows at MUSU were targeted yesterday evening (14 February). The restaurant, which opened in November 2022, issued a statement via social media late last night, describing the incident as "a shock for guests and staff". Pictures shared on social media last night showed a number of smashed windows at the front of the restaurant, and shattered glass on the pavement outside.
Images from the scene this morning show that the glass has mostly been swept up, but damage to the windows, the menu box and the MUSU sign can still be seen. The restaurant have said no one was hurt during the incident, and added that it was "working with the police to find out exactly what happened".
