Two flood alerts are in force in parts of Greater Manchester this afternoon - with more heavy rain forecast to fall.
The Environment Agency has issued a flood alert for the Middle River Mersey catchment which includes areas near Bramhall, Stockport, Sale, Altrincham and Urmston. River levels are expected to rise through the afternoon as more downpours are expected.
Residents living near the Mersey in these areas should 'be prepared' for flooding. Low-lying land and roads around Micker, Cringle, Sinderland and Poynton Brooks and their tributaries are 'most at risk', according to the Environment Agency.

A flood alert is also in force for the River Bollin, which includes areas around Hale, Knutsford, Wilmslow and Macclesfield. Residents living near the river in this area should also prepare for flooding as the water levels rise.
People have been urged to avoid using low-lying footpaths and any bridges near water. Motorists should also avoid driving through flood water.
According to the Met Office, heavy rain is forecast to fall over our region until around 4pm this afternoon. Showers will then turn lighter, before cloudier conditions set in this evening.
In a post on social media, Stockport Council said: "A flood alert is in place for the Middle Mersey catchment area following heavy rain over the past 48 hours. River levels are forecast to rise on the River Mersey due to heavy rainfall."
