‘Ted Lasso’ Star Nick Mohammed And ‘After Life’s Diane Morgan Strike BBC Studios Deals

Jason Sudeikis is already reminscing about the final days of Ted Lasso.

The Great British Bake Off kicked off with a bang on Sunday night, as the popular Channel 4 baking show returned with a brand new celebrity series in order to raise funds for Stand Up To Cancer. In the first round of the charity edition, Friends superstar David Schwimmer took on Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson, comedian Rose Matafeo and actor Tom Davis as they were tasked with baking six savoury pies, six delicious macarons, and a 3D meringue of a Celebrity fail scene.

The Great British Bake Off finally returns to our screens on Sunday, with a whole host of amateur bakers keen to impress judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith. However, unlike the usual contestants, the new series of GBBO is actually a celebrity special, and will once again be hoping to raise money for the Stand Up To Cancer appeal.

Fans went wild earlier this year when it was revealed that David Schwimmer would be entering the country's most famous tent. The Friends icon was named among the 20 famous faces taking part in this year's celebrity version of The Great British Bake Off.

Fans of The Great British Bake Off are in for a treat as there's a brand new series hitting our screens much earlier than usual. This time though, it isn't amateur bakers in the tent as the Channel 4 hit will be welcoming more celebrities into the tent, all for a great cause.

"Ted Lasso" star and executive producer Jason Sudeikis, as well as other members of the cast, are weighing in ahead of its season three premiere on what – if anything – is next for the show, with answers varying regarding more episodes and potential spinoffs.   Nick Mohammed, who plays West Ham manager Nate, told Entertainment Weekly this week, "I feel like the writers were really open at the start and said that in their heads they'd mapped out three-season arcs, but that doesn't mean that it definitely has to come to an end.There's no reason why it couldn't continue.

ABC has confirmed a pilot order for Drop-Off (working title) a comedy based on the British series Motherland, with Ellie Kemper (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt) to star and executive produce. As we previously reported, Karan Soni (Deadpool franchise) also is set as a lead in the project, from writer Julieanne Smolinski, Sharon Horgan and Clelia Mountford’s Merman Television, Paul Feig’s Feigco Entertainment, Lionsgate and ABC Signature. Michael Showalter (The Big Sick) will direct.

Writer-director Chris McQuarrie confirmed her casting on social media as the film is in production.
