"Ted Lasso" star and executive producer Jason Sudeikis, as well as other members of the cast, are weighing in ahead of its season three premiere on what – if anything – is next for the show, with answers varying regarding more episodes and potential spinoffs. Nick Mohammed, who plays West Ham manager Nate, told Entertainment Weekly this week, "I feel like the writers were really open at the start and said that in their heads they'd mapped out three-season arcs, but that doesn't mean that it definitely has to come to an end. There's no reason why it couldn't continue.
So, we'll see. I hope there's more, but who knows." Meanwhile, Sudeikis has repeatedly said the writers have always planned for a three-season run of the soccer comedy. "This is the end of this story that we wanted to tell, that we were hoping to tell, that we loved to tell," Sudeikis, who is also showrunner, told Deadline last week.
"The fact that folks will want more and are curious beyond more than what they don’t even know yet—that being Season 3—it’s flattering. "Maybe by May 31, once all 12 episodes of the season [have been released], they’re like, ‘Man, you know what, we get it, we’re fine. We don’t need anymore, we got it.’ But until that time comes, I will appreciate the curiosity beyond what we’ve come up with so far," he noted.
This week, fellow executive producer Brendan Hunt, who plays Coach Beard on the Apple TV+ comedy, seemed to back up what Sudeikis was saying. "We’re going to let this thing land, we're all going to go our separate ways for a little bit," Hunt told Yahoo Canada. "We're going to reintroduce ourselves to the local institutions of our neighborhoods and communities that we have been so neglectful of these past few years."

finally returned on Wednesday, debuting the first episode of its third — and likely final — season. However, for a show that's built a reputation on gentle, feel-good comedy, it seems like the final part of the journey might be a bit heavy, as nearly all of our favorite characters start out the season dealing with some darkness in their lives.First, there's Ted (Jason Sudeikis), who is starting to have some existential questions about why he's still across the pond after all — especially after a long visit from his son, Henry (Gus Turner), and a viral moment when he's spotted taking the AFC Richmond team down into the London sewers. (It's a metaphor!)Then there's Rebecca (Hannah Waddingham), who's become obsessed with the fact that Richmond is last in nearly every pre-season ranking, while West Ham United is toward the top of each list, headed up by the sinister combination of her ex-husband, Rupert (Anthony Head), and former Richmond kit man Nate (Nick Mohammed). And finally, Keeley (Juno Temple) and Roy (Brett Goldstein) save the biggest heartbreak for last, confirming that the tension between them at the end of season 2 did ultimately lead to a split — though it seems they don't see eye to eye about whether it was a «break» or a «breakup.»Ultimately, by episode's end, there are some things to feel good about.
Ted Lasso” is to Apple: CEO Tim Cook was among the hundreds gathered in Westwood last week for the show’s Season 3 premiere. Such events are normally a bit more low-key by the time a series reaches its third season. But not “Ted Lasso,” which filled the 1,400-person-capacity Regency Village Theatre, followed by a party that drew 700 RSVPs — and yes, Cook was there too, holding court at Brentwood’s tony Baltaire eatery. “Ted Lasso” is a show that is still at its pop culture peak. That’s why, as the Emmy-winning comedy returns to Apple TV+ on March 15, its fate is on everyone’s minds — including star Jason Sudeikis.

In the wake of Nate’s contentious departure from Richmond, Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein) steps up as assistant coach, alongside Beard (Brendan Hunt).“Meanwhile, while Ted deals with pressures at work, he continues to wrestle with his own personal issues back home, Rebecca (Hannah Waddingham) is focused on defeating Rupert and Keeley (Juno Temple) navigates being the boss of her own PR agency.

Rumors abound that the third season of Apple TV+’s massive comedy hit “Ted Lasso” will be the last. , but it doesn't necessarily mean that's the case for the show's beloved characters. ET's Nischelle Turner spoke with Jason Sudeikis and Hannah Waddingham ahead of the show's season 3 premiere, where they talked about their character's love lives and opened up about a possible spinoff to the hit Apple TV+ series. When asked if there's a possibility that Ted (Sudeikis) can win his estranged wife back — and if he wants to — and if Rebecca (Waddingham) is going to get back with Sam (Toheeb Jimoh), Sudeikis gave a blanket yes to both.«I mean, these are all things that we spoke about week one, two, or three of the writers' room. So, how about just a blanket yes to any of them?» Sudeikis offered. As far as if Ted and Rebecca will turn their long-standing tension into something more, Sudeikis said «sure,» with Waddingham playing a bit of devil's advocate, adding, «But there's always the 'could it' all over the place.»One love affair they were more open to talking about is the one between Rebecca and Keeley (Juno Temple).
