ITV viewers tuning into Good Morning Britain next week are in for a treat as a shake-up to the usual presenting line-up sees the return of two popular presenters after several weeks away. Ed Balls and Robert Rinder will both be stepping into the hot seat to helm the show, while regular host Susanna Reid and regular guest presenter Adil Ray are enjoying a well-deserved holiday.
Susanna confirmed her absence last month when she told fans she was taking a two-week break, meanwhile Adil wrote on social media: “Thanks for watching @gmb. Off for Fridays over the Easter break.” Ed will be kicking off the presenter shake-up when he joins co-host Kate Garraway for the first few days of the week, before Rob takes over to host on Friday.
As regular viewers will know, Ed has been a frequent addition to the presenting lineup, and has often alternated between Adil and Richard Madeley, since Piers Morgan bowed out of the show in 2021. In addition to his time on the show, Ed also co-hosts a popular podcast entitled Political Currency, alongside the former Chancellor George Osborne.
Meanwhile, qualified barrister Rob will also be no stranger to viewers, as he previously stepped in to co-host alongside Charlotte Hawkins last month and proved to be a firm hit with viewers at home.
The latest presenter shakeup comes after regular host Kate Garraway made her final documentary charting the life of her late husband Derek Draper, as he struggled to combat complications from contracting coronavirus during the pandemic. In the heartbreaking documentary which aired last month, the presenter explained that it was Derek's choice to make the final documentary, Kate Garraway: Derek's Story to share his story with viewers at home.
