An actress has pulled out of the Strictly Come Dancing live show on Saturday night “due to medical reasons”. Former Strictly professional Janette Manrara announced the news on BBC Two spin-off show It Takes Two, telling the audience “we have some breaking news” that Amanda Abbington would not be taking part in the episode.
The actress took to her Instagram Stories this morning to share a quote from late actor Robin Williams. Across an image of the Mrs Doubtfire star, the quote reads: "People don't fake depression... they fake being okay. Remember that. Be kind."
“Unfortunately, due to medical reasons, Amanda will not be taking part in Strictly Come Dancing this weekend,” she said. “Strictly Come Dancing protocols mean that all being well, Amanda and Giovanni (Pernice) will return the following week.”

The 39-year-old added: “Amanda we hope you get well soon, my love, sending you all the best wishes.” A Strictly Come Dancing spokeswoman later confirmed the announcement.
It comes after Abbington posted a tribute to actress Haydn Gwynne, who died on Friday after a recent cancer diagnosis, to her Instagram story. The 49-year-old wrote: “A huge and devastating loss. Such a sad day.”
Abbington, who is paired with Italian professional dancer Giovanni Pernice, scored 31 for last week’s quick-footed foxtrot to Everywhere by Fleetwood Mac for their routine, reports WalesOnline. Judge Motsi Mabuse said she enjoyed that they took the time to show the “beauty of the movement”.
