‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Star Giacomo Gianniotti Set For Netflix’s Italian Adaptation of ‘Gold Digger’ TV Series (EXCLUSIVE)

Nick Vivarelli International Correspondent Italian Canadian actor Giacomo Gianniotti, who played Dr. Andrew DeLuca on “Grey’s Anatomy,” is set to star in “Inganno,” Netflix’s Italian adaptation of the U.K. TV series “Gold Digger” that starts shooting this week on the Amalfi coast. The taboo-breaking show – which was dubbed a “toyboy thriller” by the British press – depicts the passionate and turbulent relationship between an older woman and a man who is half her age. In this case the affair disrupts and subverts Italian social and family norms. A “Gold Digger” adaptation for Indian audiences is also reportedly in the works. “Inganno,” which means “deceit” in Italian, is being directed by Neapolitan auteur Pappi Corsicato whose “The Seed of Discord” competed at the Venice Film Festival in 2008. Corsicato’s visual style is often compared to Pedro Almodovar, of whom he has been an assistant.

‘Succession’ Tops Itself Again With a Brisk, Brutal and Hilarious Final Season: TV Review

Joshua Alston If there was any debate about “Succession” creator Jesse Armstrong’s place among the upper echelon of television storytellers, Armstrong snuffed it out by declaring the show’s fourth season would be its last. In interviews with Armstrong after he announced his intention to go out on top, he talked about how the show’s title is a promise to the audience. For “Succession” to have real stakes, Logan (Brian Cox) has to decide, finally and definitively, which of his silver-tongued, sharp-elbowed children is most prepared to assume his throne. It bodes well for the final 10 episodes of “Succession” that Armstrong understands the limitations of constantly reshuffling the same deck. Because in a show in which every character is after the same prize, the prize becomes just another MacGuffin, even when it’s a multibillion-dollar media and entertainment conglomerate. Given Logan’s rapidly deteriorating cognitive condition, a decision needs to be made sooner than later, as much as Logan would prefer to use the promotion as a psychological cudgel against his children for as long as possible.

WGA Would Allow Artificial Intelligence in Scriptwriting, as Long as Writers Maintain Credit

Gene Maddaus Senior Media Writer The Writers Guild of America has proposed allowing artificial intelligence to write scripts, as long as it does not affect writers’ credits or residuals. The guild had previously indicated that it would propose regulating the use of AI in the writing process, which has recently surfaced as a concern for writers who fear losing out on jobs. But contrary to some expectations, the guild is not proposing an outright ban on the use of AI technology. Instead, the proposal would allow a writer to use ChatGPT to help write a script without having to share writing credit or divide residuals. Or, a studio executive could hand the writer an AI-generated script to rewrite or polish and the writer would still be considered the first writer on the project.

How Riley Keough Feels About the Legal Battle Surrounding Lisa Marie Presley's Estate: Source

Riley Keough has mixed emotions about the ongoing battle over Lisa Marie Presley's estate.A source tells ET that «the family drama is the last thing Riley wants to be dealing with» and that she's «deeply upset at how things are unfolding.» That being said, the source said «she hopes to still be a huge part of Harper and Finley's lives.»A second source said, «Riley is hopeful everything in her family will work out.»As ET previously reported, Lisa Marie's ex, Michael Lockwood, formally asked the court to appoint him as guardian ad litem so he can represent Lockwood's twin daughters — and Riley's sisters — Harper Vivienne Ann Lockwood and Finley Aaron Love Lockwood. In the docs, obtained by ET, Lockwood clearly states he wants to officially be appointed as the twins' guardian because «the minor is a beneficiary of a trust at issue before the probate court» and the «minor requires appointment of a guardian ad litem to represent her interests in the proceeding.»Just days after Lockwood's request, Lisa Marie's attorney, Gary Fishbein, attended a custody hearing via Zoom, and told Judge Joseph Lipner that the custody case should be dismissed because nothing else regarding the custody battle is pending and his client is «sadly no longer with us.» Lisa Marie died on Jan. 12.Fishbein said their marriage status was dissolved and child support — for Harper and Finley — order survives.

The Film Collaborative Boards Sex Work Documentary ‘Labor’ as Film Screens at CPH:DOX (EXCLUSIVE)

Lise Pedersen Los Angeles non-profit The Film Collaborative has boarded Swedish director Tove Pils’ debut feature “Labor,” which is competing in the Nordic:Dox section at the Copenhagen Intl. Documentary Film Festival, CPH:DOX. The film follows Hanna, who leaves her family and girlfriend behind in her small Swedish hometown and travels to San Francisco to explore her sexuality in the city’s vibrant queer scene. She soon meets Chloe, a professional dominatrix, and Cyd, a trans man who works as an escort for gay men. Together with her new friends, she embarks on a journey that takes her further and further away from her life in Sweden. “Labor” was shot over more than a decade, and one of the reasons it took them so long to put the film together was their concern for the protagonists’ anonymity and the effect it might have on their lives, Pils explains to Variety.

Zachary Levi Agrees Many Zack Snyder Fans Are Happy ‘Shazam 2’ Failed, Says the Sequel’s Marketing Was ‘The Biggest Issue’

Zack Sharf Digital News Director Zachary Levi is the latest member of the “Shazam! Fury of the Gods” family to weigh in on the film bombing at the box office. The DC tentpole earned just $30 million in its domestic box office debut, well below the $53 million the original “Shazam!” opened with in 2019 and a huge financial loss considering “Fury of the Gods” cost north of $110 million to make and another $100 million to market. Levi heads the franchise as the eponymous superhero. While Levi is not blaming Zack Snyder fans for “Fury of the Gods'” box office miss, he did acknowledge on Twitter after the film’s opening that many Snyder fans wanted the sequel to fail as a kind of revenge against Warner Bros. for dropping Snyder’s DC Universe. James Gunn and Peter Safran are now in charge of the DC Universe and are rebooting it with films such as “Superman: Legacy,” which will not feature Snyder’s Superman actor Henry Cavill.

Sen. Lindsey Graham urged the audience of “The Daily Show” to boo him during an interview with guest host and former Minnesota senator Al Franken Monday night. The moment came after Franken had asked the South Carolina Republican why Donald Trump would say such a “stupid thing” after the former president told Fox News’ Sean Hannity that he could’ve stopped Russia’s invasion of Ukraine if he had the opportunity to negotiate with Putin – and “at worst, I could’ve made a deal to take over something.”Graham dismissed the question before arguing that Trump “did a pretty good job of taking the fight to the terrorists” when he was president.“He killed Soleimani, he killed Baghdadi,” Graham said.
