Police have closed a road this afternoon after a person was hit by a car.
Officers have shut down Castlehill Road 'until further notice'.
Officials state that the road has been closed between Ashgrove Street and St Andrews Street.
Police have also urged locals to avoid the area and use alternative routes.
Police Scotland's Ayrshire page posted: "Due to a road crash involving a car and pedestrian, Castlehill Road, between Ashgrove St and St Andrews St, Ayr, is closed until further notice.
"Please avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible."
