Asked if Erling Haaland could have been rested at Young Boys, where he starts, Guardiola insisted the striker's importance outweighed any fitness concerns.
"He's strong, he feels good. Erling is so important to us," Guardiola said. "Today we ave an opportunity, don't qualify mathematically but make a step closer to rest this competition until February."
