Hospital patients and staff have been left raging after being trapped in a "shockingly bad" car park beside the infirmary. Motorists have fumed at conditions at the privately-owned Fountain Street site beside Hull Royal Infirmary.
A snap of the car park, taken on Tuesday by Antony Wright and posted on Hull Live's Traffic & Travel Facebook page, shows some cars blocked in on all sides, Hull Live reports.
One of the main issues is the absence of any marked bays, with users describing the site as a "wasteland free for all". Bank Park own the site, and charge a minimum of £4 per stay.
But the parking firm claim the stony surface means it is not possible to have marked bays. Spaces are marked with sleepers instead.
In Mr Wright's photo, dodgy parking has left an entire row blocked in on all sides. And users have taken to social media to share their anger about the parking situation.
One person said: "This is what my wife found after a 10 hour shift today. She had to climb in through the passenger side." Another said: "I had to wait 40 mins until the numpties came back to their car after finishing my shift!"
Someone else said: "It’s a shockingly bad car park. No structure, lack of defined bays, Dead ends. It’s basically a wasteland free for all in places.
"But you pay a premium to use it! Imagine rushing to see a sick relative, stressed, worried, You can’t find a space. It’s disgusting it’s allowed to be kept in this state."
A spokesperson for Bank Park said that they had given a refund for both parking and taxi fare to a customer who complained this week.
