A man who died after being knocked down by a car on the A9 near Perth has been named by accident investigators.
John Stanley Lewis, also known as Cameron, passed away after being hit by a motor on the southbound carriageway between Inveralmond and Broxden roundabouts.
Emergency services raced to the scene at around 1.30pm on Wednesday, January 25, but the 42-year-old, who was from Perth, could not be saved.
A 31-year-old woman, who was driving the white Peugeot 2008 car was taken to Perth Royal Infirmary as a precaution and later discharged. The road was closed to allow for an investigation at the scene and fully reopened at around 7pm.
Sergeant Kevin Wilkie, of the Road Policing Unit in Perth, said: “Our thoughts remain with Mr Lewis’ family and friends.
“Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and I would urge anyone who may have information or dashcam footage from the road at the time to contact officers.”
