A female cyclist who died in hospital after being knocked off her bike on a rural road in the Highlands has been named by police.
Emergency services raced to the scene on Mains of Bunachton, in Dunlichity, at around 12.50pm on Monday, January 30. Jane Davey, from Inverness-shire, was rushed to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness where medics described her injuries as ‘serious’.
But the 59-year-old tragically lost her fight for life on Tuesday. The occupants of the Dacia Sandero car involved in the collision were not injured.
Officers are keen to speak to any motorists who may have dashcam footage from the area around the time of the collision.
Road Policing Sergeant Calum MacAulay said: “Our thoughts are with Jane’s family and friends at this difficult time and our enquiries continue into the crash.
“Despite happening in a rural location, we’d ask anyone with relevant dash-cam footage, or who saw what happened, to get in contact with officers.”
Those with information should contact 101 and quote incident number 1416 of 30 January 2023.
