Met Office forecasters are predicting another rainy day in Greater Manchester today - with showers forecast over the weekend.
It was a largely rainy day in our region yesterday (Thursday), though snow did fall in some northern and eastern areas including Oldham and Bolton. A yellow Met Office weather warning was lifted at 6am this morning (Friday) with forecasters now predicting largely wet weather for today and across some parts of the weekend.
From lunchtime, heavy showers are forecast in Greater Manchester through much of the afternoon. It will feel warmer than yesterday though, with the mercury reaching highs of 9C later on.

Overcast and cloudy weather is then forecast tonight and into the early hours of tomorrow. Saturday looks set to be mostly dry and cloudy, with some sunny spells forecasts and highs of around 10C.
But more showers are then forecast to fall on Sunday in our region with a mix of wet and cloudy weather predicted. It will feel slightly colder on Sunday, with highs of around 7C in the afternoon.
A number of snow and ice warnings remain in force for parts of Scotland today, with disruption likely in the areas covered by the alerts. 10cm of snow was measured by the Met Office in Kirkwall, Orkney, on Thursday, while 9cm was recorded in Bingley, West Yorkshire.
A total of 43.2mm of rainfall was measured in Harbertonford, south Devon, almost half the average for the area in February. Met Office operational meteorologist Dan Stroud said temperatures in the early hours of Thursday reached a low of minus 13.8C in Altnaharra, in the Scottish Highlands, while Exeter reached a high of 13.6C later in the day.
