Liam Gallagher has hailed Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden as 'God' after his stunning performance for the Blues against Manchester United.

Erling Haaland secured the bragging rights in stoppage time as he capitalised on casual play at the back to wrap up the three points. While the Norwegian had the last word, it was Foden who would be stealing the back page headlines as he inspired the Blues to victory.
His contribution to the result was not lost on the former Oasis frontman who tweeted: "Phil Foden is GOD." In an exclusive interview with the MEN on Sunday, Gallagher explained why he had not been watching City in person as often as he used to.
"It's too f***ing mad, so I watch it at home instead," before adding on the title race: "I think it's going to be tight this year man, but City always come good at the end so we'll see.
"I tell you who aren't going to f***ing win it, the other ones [United]." The victory leaves City within one point of Liverpool ahead of next Sunday's huge encounter at Anfield.
