Former Liverpool star Jamie Carragher has named the Manchester City player who is doing what he has 'never seen before in the history of English football'.
City claimed a 3-1 win over Manchester United in the derby on Sunday in the Premier League. Phil Foden scored a brace at the Etihad Stadium, with Erling Haaland also on the score sheet.
Even though Foden and Haaland made the headlines with their goals, Carragher highlighted the performance of another player. The former Liverpool defender opted to praise John Stones for his ability and style of play under manager Pep Guardiola.

Stones started at centre-back alongside Ruben Dias for City but often operated in a more advanced role in midfield alongside Rodri. Carragher compared Stones to some of the best central defenders in the sport's history, and explained why the City star is so unique.
"I think we are watching something I have never seen in English football before," he said on Monday Night Football alongside Arsenal legend Thierry Henry.
"I have been watching football from the mid-80s and I grew up and the only defender I would class as a classy centre-back on the ball was Alan Hansen of Liverpool.
"I then remember watching [Franco] Baresi, he would come out with the ball, again pretty similar and would run with the ball from the back. Rio Ferdinand was another one of those.
