Hibernian head coach Nick Montgomery has confirmed that he would like to sign Manchester United centre-back Will Fish on a permanent deal.
The defender, who is a graduate of United's academy, rejoined the Scottish outfit for a second time in July. He returned to Easter Road on a season-long loan deal, with the club to review his situation in January.
The 20-year-old, who featured for United in pre-season ahead of finalising his move back north, has made 22 appearances for Hibernian so far this season, chipping in with one assist. As well as being an ever-present figure in the Scottish Premiership, he also made five appearances in the UEFA Europa Conference League qualifiers.

Under contract at Old Trafford until June 2025, though he does have the option to extend his stay by an additional year, it means Fish still has the opportunity to try and make a name for himself in M16. However, Hibernian chief Montgomery, who replaced Lee Johnson in September, would love him to remain north of the border on a full-time basis.
"I would love to keep Will, not just this season but on a permanent deal," Montgomery told the Edinburgh Evening News. "The kid is still just 20-years-old, and he's growing every week.
"I think his performances belie his age. He plays like a seasoned professional. To watch him in training every day and see the effort he puts into games, he's really low maintenance. I think he's got a massive future ahead of him.
"We're really lucky to have him at the club. And he loves playing for Hibs, loves the club and the boys. Hopefully he's with us for the season – and who knows what
