Manchester United are entering a new era following the takeover by British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
The Ineos founder officially became new co-owner of the club on Tuesday night. He spoke to journalists less than 24 hours later to discuss his vision for the club. Ratcliffe has acquired 27.7 per cent of shares in the club. A further $100 million of investment by December 31 will increase his ownership to 38.9 per cent.
“It's not one of these things that changes overnight,” he said about his ambitions. “We have to be careful we don’t rush at it in a way, you don’t want to run to the wrong solution rather than walk to the correct solution.
