A six-year-old girl suffered "horrendous" injuries after being attacked by a pack of dangerous dogs.
Her mum told a court she could have been killed after she found the youngster face down being mauled by the pocket bully type dogs outside her home, as she played with friends.
Prosecutors told how the girl was attacked on Sunday, March 26 outside her home in Carrington, Trafford, reports the MEN.
Owner Bernard Valentine, 36, has been jailed after a court heard he kept the six dogs in 'woefully inadequate' conditions. Minshull Street Crown Court heard that his dogs had attacked a man and his Dalmatian months earlier.

Prosecutor Laura Barbour said the girl went outside to play with friends while her mother kept an eye on her while doing housework. However the mum heard screaming and ran outside.
She saw her daughter face down on the ground as the pack of dogs on top of her. The mum desperately fought to get the animals away from the girl.
She recalled: “Everything was in slow motion and I hate myself because I couldn’t get the dog off her quick enough.” She was eventually able to free the youngster, while a neighbour let her into their garden to escape.
The mum began screaming while she realised how bad her daughter's injuries were., the court heard. She said her husband looked as if "his soul had just left his body" when he saw his daughter's condition.
The girl was drifting in and out of consciousness, with her mum singing to her to try and keep her awake.
She said: “I thought she was going to die, it
