A Scots baby died of a rare disease days after doctors diagnosed him with a viral infection and sent him home from hospital.

A pedestrian is in a serious but stable condition after being hit by a car today, police have confirmed.
The collision took place this morning on Ayr's Castlehill Road at around 10.35am with emergency services shutting down the street for several hours afterwards.
Cops closed the road between Ashgrove Street and St Andrews Street and locals were urged to stay away from the area.
Police confirmed later on that the injured female was taken to Crosshouse Hospital and is in a serious but stable condition.
Officials also stated that a 40-year-old man has been arrested in connection with road traffic offences.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 10.35am on Sunday, January 7 we were called to a report of a crash involving a car and a pedestrian outside a supermarket on Castlehill Road, Ayr.
"The female pedestrian was taken to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock, where medical staff have described her condition as serious but stable.
"A 40-year-old man, the driver of the car, has been arrested in connection with road traffic offences. Enquiries are continuing."
