Eamonn Holmes has shared a social media update, in the form of an adorable picture with his granddaughter, reflecting on a ‘good day’. The GB News presenter, who is married to Loose Women star Ruth Langsford, has been pretty vocal about his thoughts on Phillip Schofield and the rumoured ‘fallout’ between the This Morning hosts. Amid claims Phil, 61, and Holly Willoughby, 42, were were ‘barely speaking’ behind-the-scenes and that their relationship had ‘cooled’, Eamonn launched a blistering attack on the pair, calling them ‘actors’.
On Saturday, Phil announced he was stepping down from This Morning after days of speculation, while ITV confirmed Holly would continue presenting with other members of the team. After more than 20 years on the This Morning sofa, Phil said: ‘I have always been proud to cover fascinating stories on This Morning. But recently, This Morning itself has become the story.
‘Throughout my career in TV – including the very difficult last few days – I have always done my best to be honourable and kind. ‘I understand that ITV has decided the current situation can’t go on, and I want to do what I can to protect the show that I love. ‘So I have agreed to step down from This Morning with immediate effect, in the hope that the show can move forward to a bright future.
’Taking to Twitter just hours later, Eamonn posted a sweet snap with his granddaughter, writing: ‘Pappa got a smacker, Thank u Emilia. ‘All in all that rounded off what turned out to be a good day. ’Fans took to the comments to read between the lines, with one writing: ‘Savage.
