Gogglebox stars react to Phillip Schofield's This Morning exit hours after affair admission

Hit Channel 4 show Gogglebox has just taken a swipe at the former This Morning presenter, Phillip Schofield, following his recent departure from the show and just hours after he confirmed he’d quit ITV for good. In case you missed it, the 61 year old recently released a bombshell statement about the future of his career, including admitting to having an affair with a much younger male colleague and lying to his wife and ITV about it. Of course, Gogglebox was filmed before the latest news dropped, which meant that the resident armchair critics weren’t to know about the affair during filming.
However, they still had something to say about Phil’s fizzling career, which has been heavily documented in the media over recent weeks. Including his alleged feud with co-host and former best friend Holly Willoughby. While being shown an episode of last week’s This Morning, where hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary announced that Phil wouldn’t be returning, fan favourites Giles and Mary were the first to chime in on the situation.

Meanwhile, Blackpool brother and sister duo Pete and Sophie Sandiford also commented on the big news, and in their classic style, were quick to make a joke about it.
