Online footage shows the man looking suspicious as they approach a home where a package was stolen in the Shandon area of Edinburgh. The incident happened at around 1am on Thursday, April 18.
The male is seen wearing a red jumper/jacket as well as dark trousers and he approaches the front door. In the Ring doorbell clip, the man sheepishly walks down the neighbouring home's path before leaning over a garden fence and grabbing the package from in front of the adjacent property.
The male appears to have a milk bottle in his hand as he grabs the package. He the then scurries back up the path before making off.
The homeowner is now warning other locals to be wary after sharing the clip online. They were away from the property on the the night.
In a post, they said: “Beware of thieves in the Shandon area - this man came to our street which is a cul-de-sac at 1am on Thursday morning and stole one of my packages while we were away.”
