Man, 58, 'fighting for his life' after 'altercation' on Scots street

A man is fighting for his life after an altercation with another man on a Scots street.
The 58-year-old man was rushed to hospital this morning after the incident in Glenrothes.
Emergency services raced to the scene on Colliston Avenue around 9.10am this morning. The man was rushed to Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy where medics describe his condition as critical.
Police have locked down the street with pictures from the scene shows officers standing guard, with a section of a car-park taped off.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.10am on Monday, 22 April, 2024, police were called to a report of a man having been seriously injured during an altercation with another man in Colliston Avenue, Glenrothes.
“Emergency services attended and a 58-year-old man was taken by ambulance to Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy where medical staff describe his condition as critical.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.”
