A man is in hospital after being seriously assaulted on a Scots street earlier today.
Emergency crews raced to the incident on Gorgie Road in Edinburgh after receiving the alarm at around 4.25pm on Monday, April 15. Paramedics attended and a 49-year-old man was found seriously injured.
He was raced to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, where his current condition is unknown. Police say inquiries into the incident remain ongoing.

One concerned local told our sister title, Edinburgh Live: "It's ongoing right now, not sure what is happening but there are loads of evidence bags. It's the flats right next to McDonalds on Gorgie Road. There was an ambulance van there but a small one".
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 4.25pm on Monday, 14 April, to a report of a serious assault on Gorgie Road in Edinburgh. Emergency services attended and a 49-year-old man was taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
