Coronation Street star Daniel Brocklebank has clapped back at criticism over his latest storyline after a bit of classic soap comedy was injected after some heartbreaking scenes on-screen. During the last trip to the cobbles, viewers of the ITV soap saw Paul Foreman discover he had six to 12 months to live.
Paul, who was told he had Motor Neurone Disease earlier this year, had an appointment with his speech therapist, which led to a visit with the MND nurse when his mum, Bernie Winter, started worrying about her son's cough. Back at home, after breaking the news to sister Gemma Winter-Brown in an emotional voicemail message, Paul tried to look on the bright side by suggesting to Billy that they enjoy intimate time together while they still could after he'd earlier opened up to pal David Platt about the lack of intimacy with his new husband.

But in the process, Billy pulled his back and ended up laying on the floor in pain, leaving them both stuck in the bathroom. Eventually, they called Todd Grimshaw for help who ended up enlisting Ed Bailey's assistance as he couldn't get into their flat
