On the advice of her mum Bernie, Gemma made Joseph drink lavender tea in the hope it would perk him up. But when Joseph passed out, Chesney was horrified and called an ambulance.

Later, at the hospital, it was confirmed that Joseph had been poisoned and the hospital contact social services who told Gemma she wasn't able to live with her children or see them without supervision while they investigated.
