Coronation Street fans left fuming as they hit out as 'hypocrite' in heartbreaking Paul and Billy scenes

Coronation Street fans were left fuming at one of the show's characters after they seemingly forgot key details from their own past. Billy Mayhew was left horrified when he discovered that his husband was planning on ending his own life when he chooses after being diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease.
It was early last year that Paul received his diagnosis. The former builder only discovered something was wrong after he was accidentally knocked over by Carla Connor in her Underworld van when she had been unknowingly drugged with LSD by now-deceased serial killer Stephen Reid.
He kept the news from his loved ones, only confiding in his friend and former flatmate Dee-Dee Bailey before the truth about his illness was revealed to Billy and then the rest of his family. They have since been doing all they can to help Paul in what could be his final months.

But in recent scenes, as Paul's symptoms continued to progress, he returned to the idea of ending his own life on his own terms, before he becomes incapable of making decisions for himself. He once again turned to Todd Grimshaw for help who was adamant he couldn't fulfil Paul's emotional request.
During Tuesday night's (January 9) Corrie, viewers saw Paul continuing his discussion with Todd before setting about his plan to get stronger drugs from his GP. But Dr Gaddass didn't prescribe any more medication and left Paul turning to former drug addict Abi Webster.
Paul asked Abi if she had any connections that could help him secure the drugs to end his life when the time came. Abi initially refused,
