Coronation Street fans defend 'telltale' Craig Tinker as they spot problem over Ed Bailey 'insurance job'

Coronation Street fans have found themselves speaking out in defence of Craig Tinker as he appeared suspicious over the blaze at the builder's yard. There were worrying scenes during the latest trip to Weatherfield as Michael Bailey found himself trapped as a fire broke out.
Earlier in Wednesday night's (January 24) episode, viewers of the ITV soap saw a dejected Ed switching on a heater and settling down into his sleeping bag as he was left with nowhere to stay after being kicked out of his home by his son over his gambling relapse secret and being let down by his friend with a sofa to sleep on.
As he clung onto photos of his family, viewers were made aware the Ronnie had found out Ed didn't have a place to stay after all. Michael was then seen walking down the street to see smoke and flames in the builder's yard and quickly got himself in as he searched for his dad.

But after trying to put out the sleeping bag, wood fell and caught fire, blocking Michael's exit down the stairs with the other door leading to an escape locked. With Michael trapped, Damon Hay saw the fire and started calling for help before catching Ed walking down the street with some chips in hand having popped out for some food.
Thankfully, Ed was able to pull his son from the flames but as PC Tinker arrived at the scenes, he enquired with a firefighter about the damage and whether they had any idea what may have been the cause to which the emergency service worker replied that the place stunk of white spirit.
