Bake Off clip sees Alison Hammond's excitement at joining show – and first oven mishap

The newest series of The Great British Bake Off is ready to kick off, with new co-host Alison Hammond making her presence known in the tent. In a clip released ahead of the show's launch, Alison and co-host Noel Fielding could be seen celebrating Alison's first "time call" before she announced that the bakers were half-way through their allotted time to complete their first challenge. Elsewhere in the tent, Tasha is left stuck after putting their bake on the wrong tray in the oven, although she quickly comes up with a method to hid this mistake from the judges - however, it remains to be seen if this will work.
Ahead of the show's launch, judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith, and presenter Alison, opened up to OK! about the upcoming series, with Alison telling us that she was "chuffed" to be joining the show. Since the show's launch, a handshake from Paul has been the biggest sign that a baker is doing something right, however, he's now said that we won’t be seeing much of his trademark move in the new series. As Paul admitted that he’s “always straight” with the bakers, Alison said: “There were not many handshakes, though, this year.” He then confirmed: “No, I was mean with the handshakes!” The gesture has become a top honour on the show over the years, dished out by Paul on rare occasions when he believes a bake is perfect.
Meanwhile Prue shared that she was overjoyed by Alison joining the team, telling OK!: "She’s energised the show. It’s amazing. She’s such a life-enhancing ball of fire – she’s fantastic.
