Tuesday night’s episode of The Great British Bake Off saw the third baker axed from the iconic tent, as vegetable grower and delivery driver Abbi, 27, was sent home. During the episode on 10 October the bakers entered the arena with ‘the Breadmaster' Paul Hollywood, as it was time for a number of bread-based challenges.
Starting with a classic cottage loaf in the signature task, the bakers were then tasked with creating a plaited bread centrepiece in the technical. Following these challenges, Alison Hammond announced that Tasha was the Star Baker, while Noel Fielding had the difficult job of telling Abbi that she would be the third Baker leaving the tent.
Following the bad news, Abbi reflected on her time on the show, and what she's going to take away from her time in the tent, as she said: "I’m going to take away a real sense of achievement of being in the series and also of defining myself as a baker. "I feel I have a proper baking style now, and have discovered what I love to do the most and what I am best at.
I’m also going to take away a massive amount of love and family from all the rest of the bakers and the crew. It would not have been the same experience without a single one of them." And although she was sad to be leaving the tent, Abbi revealed that she wasn't particularly surprised, as she explained: "I was already pretty sure I was going to be leaving, so I wasn’t that surprised.
