The trailer has landed for upcoming Blumhouse film – which we must admit we knew nothing – You Should Have Left, has debuted online ahead of a release in homes later this month.

Recently, it was revealed that Karyn Kusama had worked out a deal with Blumhouse to adapt “Dracula” for the studio. For fans of her films “Jennifer’s Body” and “The Invitation,” the idea that Kusama’s unique style can be brought to a horror icon like Bram Stoker’s creation.

While “The Invisible Man” cemented Leigh Whannell as one of the best new directors working in genre films, many people credit his directorial debut, “Upgrade,” for really showing how special he is. Unfortunately, for as great as “Upgrade” is, the film wasn’t a massive box office success, leading many to wonder if we’d ever see a continuation of the sci-fi story.

After experiencing box office success with the release of their 2018 collaboration, the reboot-quel “Halloween,” it appears that actress Jamie Lee Curtis is ready to make it official with Jason Blum and his Blumhouse production company. According to Deadline, Jamie Lee Curtis and her Comet Pictures production company have entered into a three-year, first-look deal with Blumhouse to release a variety of film and TV projects.

Blumhouse has made a name for itself by releasing a number of micro-budget horror films that have earned big box office dollars. But the way in which the production company, and its founder, Jason Blum, are able to do this is with a talented group of filmmakers, many of which without the opportunity to helm a blockbuster film prior.

The streaming services are attempting to make the best of this pandemic situation. With people stuck inside and production on films and TV series seemingly on hold, for the time being, streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu, Apple TV+, Disney+, and Amazon are doing everything in their power to make sure they have content to push out to the masses.

Fantasy Island review: Fantasy Island was originally set for a Valentine’s Day release, but it was then pushed back to 6th March. It’s an odd thing to do, especially given the money that would have been pumped into the marketing for the Valentine’s release. Cinemas are also heaving at the moment with genre cinema; The Invisible Man is already out, Sacrilege releases on the same day, and The Hunt arrives on Wednesday. Though perhaps better known as a writer and actor, The Invisible Man marks Leigh Whannell’s third turn as a director. His first foray into life behind the lens came with Insidious: Chapter Three, the third film set in the series that he created and starred in.
