Wythenshawe bus station in south Manchester was closed this morning following a 4am assault which left a man with serious head injuries.
Police and paramedics were called to the interchange at 4.25am. The bus station was cordoned off and an investigation is underway.
Bus services were arriving and departing from stops adjacent to the interchange. Metrolink services were unaffected.

The Manchester Evening News understands police were called following reports of an assault at 4.25am today. Police and paramedics were called and one man is believed to have suffered injuries to his face and head.
An investigation is underway and one man has been arrested, the M.E.N. has been told.
Stagecoach Manchester wrote on X (formerly Twitter): "Wythenshawe Bus Station is currently CLOSED due to a police incident. All services are using the bus stops outside the bus station at the Forum. Sorry if this is affecting your journey with us today."
The Bee Network also issued an update on X, posting: "Due to a Police incident, Wythenshawe Interchange is closed. Bus services: 11, 18, 19, 43, 101, 103, 130 and 368 will depart from the Forum until further notice. Trams are not affected."
Witnesses have described how an area of the bus station has been closed off while police are at the scene.
Greater Manchester Police is expected to provide an update later.
