Wrexham have football league's biggest international audience after Hollywood takeover, club says

Wrexham AFC have the biggest international audience of any Football League club, according to its director.
Shaun Harvey has been talking about the club's recent success since its huge Hollywood takeover by "Deadpool" actor Reynolds and "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia". Welcome to Wrexham, the Disney and FX show about the club, has been very popular across the world.
The show details Wrexham's battle to get out of the National League and back into the EFL.

But, even though the club is more famous now, it seems like Wrexham is still to dominate one of the world's biggest markets: The United States. Mr Harvey says that while the team is popular around the world, they still need to make a big splash in the American market.
"There's probably 5,000 US households that have an annual subscription to watch Wrexham games live," Harvey told The Guardian. "In isolation that might not sound like a lot, but it's a massive amount in comparison to the majority of other clubs in the EFL."
Right now, Wrexham say they have the biggest international fanbase of any EFL club. Harvey didn't share the real viewer numbers for the "Welcome to Wrexham" documentary - which is set for a third series - and he calls it the club's "biggest commercial asset".
But if Wrexham and other clubs want to make progress in the United States, Harvey said that "access is absolutely key" and thinks games should be shown live and free-to-air.
