Pensioner's in Greater Manchester have been issued a reminder on unclaimed Pension Credit.
The Greater Manchester Combined Authority account issued the reminder on Twitter (now X). The post, aimed at those who have reached pension age, said an estimated £95m of Pension Credit remains unclaimed in Greater Manchester alone.
Pension Credit is designed to top up the pensions of some of the poorest people in the country who depend on the state pension to live. On average, Pension Credit brings in £3,900 a year and helps with day-to-day expenses for those who have reached State Pension age and are living on a low income.

But it's not given automatically, so people have to apply for it themselves. Once it's been secured, it acts as a 'gateway benefit', leading to more help with housing costs, council tax, and heating bills.
Minister for Pensions Paul Maynard has previously said: "We are committed to ensuring every pensioner in the North West receives the financial support available to them. Anyone who is unsure whether they or a loved one is entitled to Pension Credit should quickly check using our online Pension Credit calculator – it’s never been easier.
"Not only could this secure an extra £3,900 every year and unlock a whole host of other support, if successfully claimed by 5 March a further £299 Cost of Living boost is up for grabs."
