Viewers of ITV's This Morning are split about the newest furry friend joining the team.
The show shared a lovely photo of host Dermot O'Leary cuddling a cute new puppy, with Alison Hammond and vet Dr Scott Miller smiling next to him.
They all looked really happy as they showed off the sweet dog to everyone watching.
The photo was posted on Instagram with the words: "Welcome to our #ThisMorning family Buddy!" In the comments, the show's cook Julie Sear said she can't wait to meet Buddy and give him some yummy food. She wrote: "Awwww buddy!! How cute!! Hope to meet him next week." Some viewers were excited that the team is looking after a service dog.
One viewer commented: "Aww he's adorable!! I love that they have a service dog joining the family. Welcome Buddy!" But, some wished the show had chosen to rescue a dog instead.
Service dogs are trained to help people with disabilities, while rescue dogs generally need new homes because they were treated badly, found stray, or left in the care of a rescue centre by their owners. One person commented: "It's a shame it wasn't a rescue dog." But others defended the show, with someone saying: "it's going to become a Guide dog for someone well deserved." Some folks thought Alison would have opted for a rescue dog, especially as she's going to host For The Love Of Dogs, as reported by the Mirror.
This show takes us inside Battersea Cats and Dogs Home to find homes for lonely pets and used to be run by the funny Paul O'Grady, who sadly passed away lost last year.
In January, Alison told everyone she'd be the new host. She said: "I am very aware that I can never replace the iconic Paul in this wonderful series, but if I can continue to shine a light on the brilliant work done at Battersea
