According to figures from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), there are 3.3million people across the UK claiming PIP. Almost 416,500 of those people are receiving support for a string of neurological conditions.
A successful claim for PIP is worth between £26.90 and £172.75 each week, Daily Record reports. As the benefit is paid every four weeks, this totals between £107.60 and £691.00 every payment period.
Claimants can be paid PIP even if they are working, have savings and get other benefits. There are 70 neurological conditions which mean claimants could qualify for PIP.
Categories and groupings are based on DWPdata but if your condition is not listed, it may be classed as 'unknown'. Conditions are recorded during an assessment.
