Erik ten Hag hit back at suggestions that Manchester United are allowing the opposition too many shots by pointing to the expected goals figure within their games.

Ten Hag was also asked how much faith he put in xG shots and whether the tally of shots would eventually cost United, a suggestion he played down by pointing to the quality of chances. Everton managed an xG of just 1.26 from their 23 shots.
"That’s not true because they are low-quality chances," Ten Hag said of the quantity of shots.
