A man has been convicted of racially abusing ex-Manchester United star Rio Ferdinand whilst he was working as a pundit during one of his former club's matches.

Manchester United coach Steve McClaren was visibly emotional as the club paid tribute to Sir Bobby Charlton ahead of their Premier League clash with Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on Saturday evening.
Charlton's family issued a statement on Saturday afternoon announcing the death of the former midfielder at the age of 86. He died peacefully surrounded by loved ones in the early hours of Saturday morning.
As a mark of respect, both sets of players, plus match officials, sported black armbands, and United captain Bruno Fernandes laid a wreath in tribute. A minute's applause also took place ahead of kick-off in remembrance of the former midfielder, who made 758 appearances for United, winning seven major honours, including the European Cup.

United's travelling fans produced a chorus of 'There's only one Bobby Charlton' as a picture of the former United player was displayed on the Bramall Lane giant screen.
Charlton was also part of the England team that won the 1966 World Cup on home soil, defeating West Germany 4-2 in the final. He won 106 caps for the Three Lions, scoring 49 goals.
The statement issued by his family said: "It is with great sadness that we share the news that Sir Bobby passed peacefully in the early hours of Saturday morning. He was surrounded by his family.
"His family would like to pass on their thanks to everyone who has contributed to his care and for the many people who have loved and supported him. We would request that the family's privacy be respected at this time."
Ahead of kick-off in South Yorkshire, United manager Erik ten Hag paid tribute to Charlton, describing him as a legend.
