Former Manchester United midfielder David Beckham has said he owes Sir Bobby Charlton 'everything' after paying an emotional tribute to the club legend at Monday night's Ballon d'Or awards ceremony in Paris.
Charlton, who made 758 appearances for the Reds, died on October 21 at the age of 86. The club continued to pay its respects to the former captain ahead of Sunday's Manchester derby against City at Old Trafford.
The former midfielder, who helped England win the World Cup in 1966, was adored by everyone associated with the Reds and the wider football world. Charlton touched the hearts of millions and that has shone through since his death just over a week ago.

Several current United players and former Reds stars have shared tributes and fond memories of Charlton, who spent 17 years at the club as a player. Former United manager Sir Alex Ferguson also shared a 1,000-word eulogy in Sunday's matchday programme.
And now former United ace Beckham has issued another tribute to the former England midfielder, just over a week after he shared fond memories of the Ashington-born star in a social media post. He addressed the audience at the 2023 Ballon d'Or awards with an emotion-filled speech.
