England's FA have announced a full tribute to Manchester United legend Sir Bobby Charlton who died on Saturday.
Charlton, who made 106 appearances for the national team, scored 49 goals in an iconic career which saw him reach the pinnacle of world football. In 1966, the former midfielder featured in the England team which lifted the World Cup at Wembley Stadium, the only time the Three Lions have secured this achievement to date.
Following news of Charlton's passing, England announced plans to honour the memory of their heroic former player. In a statement, the national team posted: "Rest in peace, Sir Bobby Charlton – one of our nation’s all-time greats.

"A full tribute to Sir Bobby will be paid at Wembley Stadium when England play Malta on Friday, November 17." They also added: "A true legend of our game. We will never forget you, Sir Bobby."
England manager Gareth Southgate commented: "The privilege of meeting him on several occasions allowed me to understand his personal pride and emotion in having represented England, and simply confirmed in my mind his standing as one of the gentlemen of the game.
"The world of football will unite in sadness at losing an undisputed legend."
Before United's clash with Sheffield United on Saturday, all players wore black armbands in memory of Charlton.
Captain Bruno Fernandes laid a wreath on the centre circle at Bramall Lane and the stadium marked his passing with a minute's applause. After the game, Fernandes dedicated the victory to Charlton and his family at this difficult time.
